In collaboration with Treeapp, a global tree planting organization, we help plant trees where they are most needed. Through our partnership, Juhler Group is investing in a private forest in Indonesia, with a focus on growing mangrove trees.
Indonesia's unique tropical climate and island geography provide the basis for some of the world's richest biodiversity. However, Indonesia has lost over 40 million hectares of its mangrove forests in the past three decades. Mangrove forests are important for forming natural barriers for erosion control, protecting farmers' land during tropical storms and floods. These reforestation efforts also benefit around 300 species of tropical birds and over 500 species of coral reefs.
As part of our corporate social responsibility, we actively work to promote gender equality and inclusion in the workplace. In line with the Equality and Discrimination Act, we prepare an annual gender equality report to document the measures that have been implemented to promote gender equality and prevent discrimination, in addition to providing insight into any challenges that exist and how they can be addressed.
